The Oregon Coast - September 20 - 26, 2018

Tuition - $1395 for 6 days

A true bucket-list item for so many photographers, the coast of Oregon is simply stunning.  With coastal mountains, silky sand dunes, rough and rocky shorelines, hidden tidepools, prominent light houses, cascading rivers and magestic sea stacks dotting the coastal landscape, this part of the country is a photographer's dream. Very few places inpart such a sense of place like the Oregon coast.

Join Jeff and Ledra for six days in a coastal photography paradise. Basing ourselves in Florence and Bandon, the workshop will cover an area from the Newport area to south of Bandon.  Your photos will represent an astonishing cross section of what the coast has to offer.

This workshop begins at 7pm Thursday, Sept 20 and ends around 3pm on Wednesday, Sept 26.

Transportation

Major car rental companies are available at or near both airports.  Participants will need to arrange their own transportation to, from, and during the workshop.  We strongly recommend that participants share the cost of rental vehicles.  We suggest this because some shooting locations on the workshop have very limited space for vehicles and we must require participants to carpool to these locations anyway.

For this Workshop:

Accessories - We do not require that you purchase any specific equipment for this workshop.  With that said, however, there are a couple of filters that we feel are very important to possess and whose effects cannot be replicated in Photoshop.  A circular polarizer is very commonly used in landscape photography.   If you are not familiar with this filter, there will be a discussion as to its uses and effects during the lecture portion of the workshop.  Also, a 3-stop or variable neutral density filter may be of use on the workshop as well. To read more about these filters now, click here or email us with any questions.

Climate - Oregon's coastal temperature is fairly stable. The temperatures will generally range from 50-60 degrees on this workshop.  Pack layers and wind/rain restistant outerwear for this trip.

Weather – This workshop could involve different shooting environments, so be prepared for whatever the weather may bring.  Be sure to have rain gear for you and your camera and good sturdy footwear.
